The Rice Raiser Campaign
The Rice Raiser is a youth mobilized community event designed to feed people locally and globally at the same time.
Combining education with action:
The campaign is a focused project over the month of February that runs through schools from preschool level to post secondary. Information about global hunger is provided and students are encouraged to challenge their communities to respond to the needs by donating rice and or funds.
The 2008 Rice Raiser Campaign
February 1 – 29
Over $66,000 worth of food and funds (so far) has been given out as a result of the great efforts of over 30 schools and groups!
Thousands of people have received food or assistance to growing food. Thank you for all the great support!
The global projects will remain for the duration of 2008 and we will continue to accept donations to help the people in these countries. Watch for the posting of our 2009 global projects coming soon.
I believe the Rice Raiser Campaign is very important to participate in because some people in our world are struggling while some live without struggles, but they are not thankful. – comment from a student

We are a generation of people that intends on changing the status of hunger!
The Rice Raiser is a youth mobilized community event designed to feed the hungry both in our own community and in developing countries at the same time.
Canadian students from elementary to post secondary levels are invited to help address hunger globally by collecting rice to feed people locally, in their own communities and funds to feed people globally.
Choose to be part of a generation to change global hunger!
This opportunity for giving will make a difference to our world, both on the local level and on the global level.
Every year millions of people die from hunger related diseases. The terrible truth is, that over 852 million people suffer hunger related illnesses when we have the ability to produce sufficient food to feed every person alive on the planet.
It’s time to work together to change things. Your help can make a difference!
