The Rice Raiser Campaign
The Rice Raiser is an educational youth mobilized community event designed to feed people locally and globally at the same time.

Combining education with action:
All you need is a few friends to join you in learning about global hunger and then commit to collecting food and money. Many school groups choose to run their campaign during the month of February. However, the campaign can be run anytime with any group of caring people throughout the year.
Register your group on line and receive our resources. Then you and your friends can go into action by helping to raise awareness and through your involvement, help change hunger for many. Remember, it’s going to take all of us working together to change hunger!

The Rice Raiser Campaign is simple and yet very effective to help change hunger in people’s lives. Not only that, but it can change us as we learn about hunger and help change it in our own communities and around the world.
Anyone can participate!
Besides schools, any group of people can register and participate in the Rice Raiser Campaign. Church groups, club groups, at the work place, neighbourhoods, groups of friends, family groups, or even individuals who just want to be ‘elements of change’ in their own lives and the lives of people who struggle with hunger.
The first thing is to learn about the needs of the hungry and then respond to your new awareness of global hunger by talking about it with others. Then take action by doing something practical like donate food to help people locally and funds to help people globally. Ask others to join you in your efforts. Contact us for more information.
The 2009 Rice Raiser Campaign
About $75,000 worth of food and funds (so far) has been given out as a result of the great efforts of over 30 schools and groups!
Students in Dumay School in Haiti were provied with lunch meals. As you can see…it’s good down to the last grain of rice! For many students, this is their only meal of the day. See Projects for more information.

We are a generation of people that intends on changing the status of hunger!
The Rice Raiser is a youth mobilized community event designed to feed the hungry both in our own community and in developing countries at the same time.
Canadian students from elementary to post secondary levels are invited to help address hunger globally by collecting rice to feed people locally, in their own communities and funds to feed people globally.

This opportunity for giving will make a difference to our world, both on the local level and on the global level.
Every year millions of people die from hunger related diseases. The terrible truth is, that now over one billion people suffer hunger related illnesses when we have the ability to produce sufficient food to feed every person alive on the planet.
